Insurance
To be sure you can rest at ease that if your parcel delivery was to go wrong and your item was to get damaged or lost, Insurance is a great idea to add to your booking. This way you can claim for it and recover your money for a replacement item. You can insure each parcel up to a value of £1,000
Before you add the insurance to your booking though, be sure that the item is actually covered on the service you are using, and also that the packaging meets the requirements that are set by the courier.
We will insure anything that we carry on our same day couriers service, but we have a prohibited items list that you need to check before sending using our other courier delivery services. For example, items containing glass will not be covered, items made of china, ceramics or pottery will not be covered. You must not send antiques using our normal delivery service, you will need a specialised courier service for those, or take the chance that our services which are cheaper will be ok. You can take the risk if you wish sending any of these items, but don’t add insurance at the point of ordering, and be extra careful with your packaging.
We can offer you guidelines on packaging if you click here. You will also find links on this page to our packaging partner where you can purchase the right kind of supplies to suit your items. It is worth investing a little money in the right boxes to use, to save the hassle of having to claim on an insurance policy because your item gets to its destination in a bit of a sorry state.
So, as we mention above, be sure your item is covered, and be sure that you have packaged it correctly before paying extra money for insurance and adding it to your order.
