A 10kg 1 metre cubed parcel sent overseas to Spain. I was just quoted over £200 by at least 2 couriers. Surely there must be a cheaper method?
I can get the package its own seat on a plane and pay for its taxi fares for cheaper than that!
Any international postal service users out there that can tell me a cheaper option?

I send all of my heavy stuff by Royal Mail Standard Parcel post at the moment but I have to take it to the Post Office and there’s usually a couple of big boxes each day. Royal Mail won’t collect parcel post so does anyone know of any courier companies which might work out cheaper?

I’ve know who all the main couriers are but I could do with some advice from someone who actually uses them and might be able to recommend one to try.

I really don’t know what the problem is, ParcelForce have meant pick up a package from me for next day delivery, I paid big money for this service, much more than usual and they asked me to specify a time for pickup, I stated between 3:00pm and 5:00pm as that’s when I come home and for two days in a row they’ve came hours before this leaving me notes to call this which is really frustrating as they then say they can’t guarantee times and it’s up to me to be in!

What’s so hard about picking up a parcel at the agree time? I’ve sent with other couriers and never had these problems, really don’t know why I keep using ParcelForce as I get nothing but problems when I do, last time they lost my parcel and the time before that… well let’s not even go there, I feel so angry and like pulling my hair out that a company can be so unproffesional, plus the recipient of my parcel is having to wait longer due to their mishaps xxxx

i’m looking for the cheapest business insurance i can find to use as a van parcel courier. i expect to cover around 50 thousand miles p year. i have been quoted by one company at £2625 fully comp per year. (yes i nearly fell of my chair) and £1283 by milestone insurance (fully comp) This sounds an incredible amount for insurance, is there a cheaper way?
does anyone know of any cheaper insurers for van couriers? also do i need fully comp with business use, or is 3rd party fire and theft business use enough?

I bought over £550 of goods from http://www.1st4aquatics.com/ including a fish tank.
There was a delay in processing my order from Jan 8th and they finally arranged for next day delivery on Tuesday. When I phoned on Tuesday for an estimated time of delivery I was informed by the courier that I wouldn’t get it till Wednesday, so I explained that I would not be home and to make delivery on Thursday.
When I got home last night, I found it had been delivered to my elderly neighbours. I get it home and set up the stand then take out the tank to realise it’s smashed!
I’ve now phoned 1st4aquatics who were very abrupt in telling me that because a signature was obtained and they clearly state on the website that no claims can be made after accepting the delivery, they are not in a position to replace my tank. I was told I would have to take it up with the couriers who are basically saying without insurance they can do nothing
I’m sitting here with a broken tank not fit for the purpose and a retailer who denies any responsibility. They really are a very rude and blunt crowd and I do not think there is any reasoning with them.
Where should I go from here? Do I need to contact trading standards or any other authority who can defend my consumer rights? What rights do I have?
I’m gutted and I really need help.

I am want a mattress picking up from a location in Wembley, Middlesex and to be delivered to Manchester.
The dimensions around 190cmL 135cmW and 26 cmH. I guess the weight would be approx 26kg. Does anyone know any couriers.
When I have looked they seem to either be for small parcels or really dear.Can you help?

Hi, i need sum advice please. I bought some goods from someone online and paid her via paypal on 2nd May, she sent the items to me via selective international 2007 couriers around 2 weeks ago but i have not recieved the parcel. Ive looked up the couriers and they have really bad feedback for thieving peoples goods and not delivery the parcels, we have both tried contacting them but have had no sucess. I asked my seller fo a refund or even a part refund but she refused as she says she cannot afford to do this as she has sent the items. I also cannot afford to just leave this situation unresolved as im only on benefits and dont have money to waste. I have already opened a dispute with paypal and the seller has been communicating with me via paypal, i think she has a good case as she has sent me a copy of the reciept, etc. What do you think my chances are of getting my money back? considering that i have not signed or recieved the items i paid for. Please help, thanks.
The item was sent from and to the UK, not internationally, its just called selective international because they can ship internationally.
The company, selctive2007 sell their courier service on ebay and also have a website but not a good one, there is no proper tracking system and in their ebay shop feedback people have left negative feedback saying that they use false recipets with false tracking numbers on them.
Surely, my seller should be responsible for using such a bad compay anyway.
