Courier Delivery companies are not at all difficult to find. There are the very well known worldwide courier companies like DHL, TNT, Parcel Force and Fedex just to name a few. Then there are country specific companies that are not so well known, and you will also find local courier companies who will cater for your area, carrying out parcel delivery in the UK. So how do you know which one to use?

Well, you will find that many of them will require you to open an account before you can use their services, and then you have to send a certain amount of packages through them each month to keep the account open. You will also find these people expensive unless you are sending in excess of 50 parcels a week. What you really need to find is a company who holds accounts with the bigger couriers, who will place the order on your behalf. These people are called resellers. They have an account with many of the different companies available and because they collate orders from many people and put them all through the one account, this means they benefit from discounts that people who send smaller numbers of parcels just couldn’t get access to.

This page has been written to give you an idea of exactly how our same day delivery service works.

It all starts of course, with you, our customer, who has a parcel delivery that is urgent. You visit our site at Clickaparcel.com and enter your collection and delivery post codes into our instant quote system. This is a quoting system that is open for business 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for you to get a price for your same day delivery and you can book and pay for it there and then if you wish. You are normally able to book a same day couriers service for up to a week in advance.

The way we work out a price for you is pretty simple. Our clever software is able to work out exactly how many miles it is between the two post codes you have entered. Then, based on the rates we have managed to negotiate with the UK’s best same day courier companies, the system simply multiplies the number of miles by the best per mile rate that we have and hey presto, you have your quote!

Once you have booked and paid, the order is then in our admin area waiting for us to book directly with the courier for you. We do this as soon as we get into the office in the morning with any orders that have come through while the office was closed, and also throughout the day as and when the bookings are made. The beauty of doing things this way, is that you don’t have to worry about opening an account with a same day parcel courier company, you can just pay as and when you need to use the service. We hold the accounts needed, and because we do so much business with the courier companies, we are also able to negotiate fantastic discounts off their normal prices so actually, it works out cheaper for you to use us, than it is for you to go direct.

From the point that we have booked the collection for you, we are then able to tell you when to expect a driver, and once your parcel has been collected, we can tell you exactly where it is as all of our same day couriers partners use tracking systems on their vehicles. If you have an urgent parcel delivery to book, then our same day couriers service are there to help you. But what if it isn’t so urgent? Well, we also offer a next day delivery service which is much less expensive. If you book this service before 12 noon, we can normally have the parcel collection arranged for the same day and then delivered to the recipient’s door the very next day. This is a weekday service and doesn’t include Saturday’s and Sunday’s. We do offer a Saturday delivery service, but more about that in a later article.

So, how does our service work? Well, just like the same day courier service we have, our next day parcel delivery is just as simple. You visit our site and click on the quote and book button, then enter the weight and dimensions of your parcel into our quote page. Next, you will be presented with your options for sending your parcel and one of them will be the next day option. You can then continue through the process telling us where to collect from, where to deliver to, what’s inside the parcel and how much is it worth. As long as the item isn’t on our prohibited items list, then feel free to add extra insurance to your more valuable parcels for delivery. Once all the information you have entered has been reviewed and you are happy it is correct, you can pay for your order by PayPal or by Credit / Debit card. You will then be given your order number and we will send you an email to confirm your order.

It is worth us pointing out at this stage, that this service only covers the UK Mainland. Some parts of Scotland and the South West, as well as Northern Ireland are excluded from this service and will suffer an extra 24 hour delay.

Please make sure your items are well packaged. These parcels will be put through a national distribution network and sometimes the parcels will drop from one conveyor belt to another as they are sorted. Ample packaging is important to protect your items. The most common reason for people having damage insurance claims rejected is because the packaging of the item was not sufficient in the first place.
